Benjamin McPhail
Program Director, 105.5 The Colorado SoundEmail: benji@coloradosound.org
I’ve been with The Colorado Sound from the very beginning, helping to shape the music, image and overall presentation of what I consider the finest radio station in the country. As a certifiable music fanatic, it is pure joy to come to the station and share this passion with a staff of likeminded radio professionals and display our knowledge and love of music with you every day.
I have been involved with radio since 1989 and done every radio job under the sun: overnights, mornings, middays, afternoon drive and evenings. I have been program director, music director, production director, promotion director — and yes, even sales and (when needed) engineering. Phew.
I have helped the Colorado Sound be named Westword ڱpaper’s Best New Radio Station in 2017. That same year, I was named Program Director of the Year by FMQB trade magazine. I have served on NPR Music's Slingshot Editorial Committee and a regular contributor to NPR Music's Heavy Rotation series.
I live in Denver with my beautiful wife and adventurous dog. I love cycling, yoga and college athletics. I am a proud alumnus of the University of Colorado. Go Buffs.
