With all due deference to Yogi Berra, we just had to pass this picture taken on CO5 along.
Well known for wildlife sightings, CO5 leading up to Mount Evans usually produces pictures of big horn sheep, mountain goats, , or in 2012 an . This time around we got a picture that immediately brought the old Yogi Berra malapropism to mind.
This delightful photo also touched off a bit of fun with quotes of the road as well:
"The middle of the road is where the marmot is - and that's the worst place to drive." - Robert Frost "Marmots are finger posts on the road to achievement." - C. S. Lewis "Life is one big road with lots of marmots. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live! " - Bob Marley, Wake Up And Live lyrics "A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs, jolted by every marmot in the road." - Henry Ward Beecher
We definitely agree with Henry Ward Beecher on that one.
Update 1:06 p.m. Facebook fan gave our marmot photo a little interstellar pizzaz:
