Leaders to Discuss Pressing Issues for Northern Colorado

Water, higher education and energy development will be the top discussion items at an event focused on the challenges facing Northern Colorado. The region's population is expected to almost double over the next 30 years.

Overview by Andrew Jones, Lawrence Jones Custer Grasmick LLP followed by a panel conversation featuring:  Dr. Reagan M. Waskom, Director of the Colorado Water Institute and Director of the Colorado State University Water Center; Eric Wilkinson, Northern Water General Manager and John Stokes, City of Fort Collins Poudre River Sustainability Director

8:45 am Session 2: Higher Education – A Higher Calling or Groveling for Dollars?
Presentation by Regional Economist Dr. Phyllis Resnick

10:00 Session 3: Energy Development – What’s the Big Fracking Deal?
Panel Conversation featuring Tisha Schuller, President and CEO of Colorado Oil & Gas Association; Weld County Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer and Ken Carlson, Colorado State University Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  The panel will be moderated by Sara Cassidy, Director of The Colorado Competitive Council (C3)
