Winter storm Saturn, which has already left Chicago digging out from 10 inches, is expected to dump more snow on Maryland and Virginia.

A storm that's dumping snow on the Upper Midwest is moving south and east. By Thursday, some cities may have a foot or so of fresh snow on the ground. Dubbed "Saturn" by The Weather Channel, the storm's also known by the more topical moniker "Snowquester."

More than 2 feet of snow hit the high plains this week, snarling travel and all but shutting down some cities. Despite those hassles, for farmers and ranchers, the snow brings some urgently needed moisture to their drought-stricken fields and pastures.

Still digging out from one major winter storm, parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri are in the path of another.

Amarillo, Tex. has already seen 17 inches. By the time it's all over, it may break its all time snowfall record.
