The fireworks at Saturday's Republican State Convention started early and burst throughout the day. Many longtime party activists say Rep. Ron Paul's supporters are taking over the party, and the friction showed. If the event is any indication, Mitt Romney might not get a drama-free national convention.

Paul said despite that fact, his delegates can still push his agenda at the GOP convention.

Americans Elect, the nationwide effort to launch a credible third-party presidential campaign, has money, media attention and — most importantly — access to the ballot in dozens of states. What it doesn't have is a candidate for president. And its internal deadline for finding one has just passed.
