Some city leaders say Boulder has too many parking spaces. And while that might not line up with your experience trying to park at Pearl Street mall, transportation experts say some Front Range cities have too many empty parking spots that could be used for things like housing or parks. On today鈥檚 In The NoCo, we鈥檒l hear from one Boulder City Council member who says it鈥檚 time to stop requiring builders to create so much parking.

Each spring, the Front Range endures miller moth season. Even in relatively mild years like this one, the tiny winged visitors annoy us 鈥� frighten us鈥� and fascinate us. So we asked an insect expert to help us unpack the mysteries of the miller moths.

About 80% of Colorado鈥檚 water falls on the western side of the state. But about 80% of Colorado鈥檚 people live on the east side of the mountains. Because of gravity, that water doesn鈥檛 flow to them naturally. Instead, Colorado鈥檚 heavily-populated Front Range relies on a massive plumbing system to keep drinking water flowing to its taps.

SB21-238, which Gov. Jared Polis signed Wednesday, establishes the Front Range Passenger Rail District, an independent entity with the herculean task of 鈥減lanning, designing, developing, financing, constructing, operating and maintaining鈥� a passenger rail system through the region.

The city of Fort Collins is asking residents to use less water this spring and summer, as the city鈥檚 utilities department prepares for incoming ash and debris flows from the Cameron Peak burn scar.
