With about two weeks until the start of the , towns along the 600-mile race route are working overtime to communicate impending road closures and race-day details to residents.
In Northern Colorado鈥攚hich has never before seen a race stage鈥攃o-chair Bob Herrfeldt says this means using multiple modes of communication to reach residents in Windsor, Loveland, Estes Park and Fort Collins.
鈥淲e鈥檝e really been hitting the notifications on a lot of different levels,鈥� he said. 鈥淲hether it鈥檚 knocking on doors, doing door hangers, mailers, community meetings and then all the social media, traditional mediums that we鈥檙e going to be hitting as well.鈥�
The race will operate with 鈥渞olling closures,鈥� meaning that a specific intersection could be closed anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes Saturday, August 24. On Friday night, portions of Mountain Avenue will be closed for the set-up of the Finish line in downtown Fort Collins.

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge kicks off August 19 in Aspen and ends the following Sunday in Denver.
