The registry contains films judged to be "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant, the Library of Congress says, and those selected will be preserved. There are now 500 in the registry. The other 475 . They range from Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein to the Zapruder Filmthat captured the moments when President John F. Kennedy was killed.
