Thirteen percent of the energy generated in Colorado last year came from wind power, making it among the nation鈥檚 top states according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Texas and California are in the number one and two spots respectively in the report.
The spokesperson Liz Solerno told that Colorado鈥檚 strong wind industry is the result of aggressive recruiting by the state.
鈥淐olorado has realized that there are a lot of benefits that come with not only wind projects, but the manufacturing of the wind turbines. So we鈥檝e seen Colorado rise up the ranks, and that鈥檚 really happened just over the past few years,鈥� Solerno said.
Colorado has four manufacturing and research plants for wind energy giant .
