As crews continue to battle more than a dozen in Colorado, many cities, counties and federal agencies are ordering fire restrictions.
The limits have been implemented in a number of , including in Boulder, Adams, Arapahoe and Park counties. has adopted fire restrictions for unincorporated areas prohibiting open camp or cooking fires.
Stage 1 restrictions are also in place for the National Forests.
"Which means you can only have a camp fire in a designated campground," says forest service spokeswoman ReghanCloudman. "That means one of the places that you go and pay a fee in order to camp there, and have a designated location."
Cloudman says camp stoves are permitted as long as they have an on-off switch.
"We just really encourage people to be careful with fires that you鈥檙e allowed to have, don鈥檛 have fires you鈥檙e not supposed to, and just use common sense," she adds.
Forecasters expect the weather to remain hot and dry through the Independence Day weekend.
