Another winter storm is working its way across Colorado, bringing gusty winds and up to a foot of snow to some areas.
Meteorologist Kyle Fredin with the National Weather Service in Boulder says the storm is mainly affecting northern Colorado.
"We have a winter storm warning out for all of Larimer county and the northern section of Weld County. Our winter storm warning goes through 6 am, and we鈥檙e expecting 6 to 10 inches up there. The rest of the urban corridor is under a winter storm watch 鈥� we鈥檙e expecting snow amounts to be a little bit less."
The winter storm warning also covers the northern mountains and areas near the Wyoming border.
Whiteout conditions prompted the Colorado Department of Transportation to close U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass just after midnight Sunday. Wind gusts up to 93 mph were recorded in southwest Colorado. Accidents temporarily closed various stretches of Interstate 70 early Sunday.
Update 8:15 am: The weather has prompted state transportation officials to close Interstate-25 in both directions between Wellington and Cheyenne, Wyo. Monday because of blowing snow. Loveland pass is also closed near the Eisenhower tunnel.
The National Weather Service says the storm could bring 15 to 25 inches of new snow to the northern Colorado mountains by Wednesday night. Less snow is predicted for the central mountains.
Among still open for the season, Beaver Creek was reporting 15 inches of new snow as of Monday morning; Copper Mountain is reporting 13.
