Several inches of snow have fallen on metro areas, slowing . The National Weather Service (NWS) expects up to two feet of snow in the mountains over the next several days. In Steamboat, they are reporting a number that is sure to make skiers smile, 24" in 24 hours.

Steamboat may be the big winner, but other resorts are reporting 24-hour totals that will help with the snowpack. Vail is reporting 8", Loveland 3.5", and Powderhorn near Mesa is reporting 18". You can take a .
Dave Barjenbruch with the NWS in Boulder says the storm is good news for Colorado鈥檚 snowpack, but that it鈥檚 going to take more than one storm to restore levels to where they should be.
"As we head into the middle of next week, there鈥檚 a chance for more disturbed weather," he says. "What we need to do is keep getting these periodic storms and keep adding to that snowpack to really help that build through the spring months."
Colorado's current snowpack is only 61 percent of normal [.pdf] for this time of year. Forecasters expect this week鈥檚 storm to continue through Thursday.
