Smoke is once again billowing across the northern Front Range as the Fern Lake Fire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park intensifies.
The fire is 30 percent contained however, strong winds have increased its size to 792 acres. While no structures are threatened, park spokeswoman Julie Johndreau says the fire will continue to be very active.

Johndreau says plumes of smoke will most likely be visible until a decent snowfall suppresses the fire. Very windy conditions are forecast in the park this week. But those winds also bring a chance for snow Wednesday.
