Three Colorado Schools Included In List of Best Public Colleges

U.S. °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ & World Report

The latest edition of includes Colorado School of Mines, the University of Colorado and Colorado State University.

The top public universities list ranked a total of 115 schools including:

  • at 32nd
  • at 42nd
  • at 67th
  • at 108th

was ranked first on the top public universities list followed by and tied for second.

According to U.S. °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ & World Report, public colleges and universities are typically operated under the supervision of state governments and are funded, in part, by tax dollars and subsidies from the state. As a result, these universities often offer free or discounted tuition to students considered residents of the state. Public schools run the gamut from small liberal arts colleges to large research institutions.

U.S. °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ & World Report on a variety of measures, including academic peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
