Colorado's unemployment rate continues to trend downward 鈥� declining another two-tenths of a percentage point last month, to 7.7 percent.
Alexandra Hall, chief economist for Colorado鈥檚 Department of Labor and Employment, says the state added roughly 8,000 jobs in November, primarily in three areas: Professional and business services, education and health services, and tourism.
All three of those sectors saw a few thousand or more jobs added over the month of November.
Hall adds that Colorado鈥檚 payroll job numbers and unemployment rate are finally starting to get back to pre-Recession levels last seen in late 2008 and Jan. 2009. But that the recovery could stall if Congress fails to reach a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff by the end of the year.
