Cavnar becomes the first woman to handle primary play-by-play duties in major league history. Authorities say the locomotive of a cargo train has derailed in northern Colorado, spilling hundreds of gallons of diesel. The Loveland Fire Rescue Authority says the Great Western Railway locomotive didn't tip over when it went off the rails early Wednesday at a switch in the tracks, but a fuel tank was punctured.

Authorities say an Amtrak worker was seriously injured and two other people suffered minor injuries when a passenger train derailed after it hit a tanker truck carrying milk in northeastern Colorado. Colorado State Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Troy Kessler said Tuesday that the train worker, a 42-year-old man from Utah, suffered injuries in Monday night's crash that might be life-threatening.

Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert's ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, has been charged with assault and other counts in connection with two domestic altercations. Authorities say the charges filed Wednesday are in connection with an argument he had with the congresswoman in a restaurant, and a physical fight with the former couple's son.

Republican state Rep. Mike Lynch announced he's stepping down as minority leader in the Colorado House Wednesday. The announcement comes a week after The Denver Post reported that Lynch was arrested in 2022 on suspicion of drunken driving and possession of a gun while intoxicated. Lynch is also running for Congress in Colorado's 4th District.
