Five bystanders were injured when officers shot and wounded a man who allegedly pointed a gun at them in a busy area of Denver early Sunday, police said.

A gunman who went on a shooting rampage in several locations around the Denver area, killing five people and wounding two, targeted his victims based on previous personal and business dealings, authorities said.

Six teenagers went to the hospital after a shooting in a park near a high school in suburban Denver on Monday, police said. The suspect in the shooting near Aurora Central High School left the scene and has not been identified, Aurora police said in a tweet.

The Times-Call reports the postal worker, whose name has not been released, was shot in front of a group of neighborhood mailboxes in southwest Longmont on Wednesday afternoon.
