A top legal advisor to President Donald Trump testified at a hearing called by Republican state lawmakers to look into any irregularities concerning Colorado鈥檚 mail-in voting system.
The state has been praised by both major parties as among the nation鈥檚 safest voting systems and for the state's largest turnouts in the U.S. in 2020.
The reason for and timing of Tuesday's Legislative Audit Committee hearing befuddled many, coming a day after the Electoral College certified Joe Biden鈥檚 presidential win.
Republican committee chair Rep. Lori Saine of Weld County told fellow lawmakers its goal was to put to rest 鈥渁ny doubt鈥� about election irregularities in the state.
