The latest numbers from the Colorado Secretary of State鈥檚 office shows going into Election Day, almost two million voters have already cast ballots. That鈥檚 more than half of the state鈥檚 registered voters.
Some independent pollsters predict another 800,000 will vote at the polls Tuesday in traditional fashion.
鈥淚 feel pretty confident in saying that we鈥檙e on pace to match 鈥� if not exceed 鈥� voter turnout in the 2008 election,鈥� says Andrew Cole, a spokesman for the Secretary of State鈥檚 office.
More than 2.4 million people in Colorado voted in the 2008 general election, which was widely considered a historic year for voter turnout.
Of the nearly 1.9 million ballots already cast, about 33,000 more have come from Republicans than Democrats -- and more than half a million are from independent voters.
