If you weren't in Boulder last night at the Fox for a show, then you missed a great one! KUNC Presents was on hand for Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit with The Band of Heathens.
opened the night and at one point provided the unfamiliar Boulder audience with a compliment. At a lull in the set a surprised concert goer exclaimed, "Wow, you guys are pretty good!" Which earned the sardonic response: "Thanks, you guys are an above average audience." The crowd was sparse to start and they missed out on a great set from the Austin Band. The evening's never disappoints. A rip-roaring cover of Neil Young's "Like A Hurricane" and a solo acoustic cover of "Angel From Montgomery". Crowd favorites like "Decoration Day" or "Goddamn Lonely Love", the poignant "Dress Blues" from Sirens of the Ditch, all the way to "Codeine" from Here We Rest.
