As COVID-19 vaccines rolled out for residents in long-term care, almost 300 of Colorado鈥檚 facilities were contending with active outbreaks involving more than 9,000 infections.

The general public will probably have to wait until summer 2021 to get a coronavirus vaccine, according to a new distribution plan Gov. Jared Polis and top public health officials unveiled on Wednesday.

The vaccine still isn't available to the general public, but Colorado expects to receive its first order of doses this month.
