With an average daily high of 80 degrees throughout the month, this September has shattered the old record set in 1948.
But isn鈥檛 it too soon to tell?
鈥淎s long as we stay above zero, this will be the warmest September on record,鈥� said Bernie Meier, a meteorologist with the .
鈥�...It鈥檚 been warm enough that we鈥檙e pretty much locked into seeing that happen, even if we get real cold and see snow it鈥檚 still going to be the warmest on record for the Front Range.鈥�
There鈥檚 little chance of snow though, the last day of September has an 80 degree high forecast by the NWS.
Along with the warm weather, the usual monsoonal rains haven鈥檛 come. Currently a quarter of the state - and most of the Front Range - is considered abnormally dry. According to Meier, the upcoming cooler temperatures should offset the lack of precipitation.

鈥淲e take the high temperature and the low temperature and get the average for the day, and then we just add that up for the month and divide by 30.鈥�
