High water continues to move through Greeley, although Greeley officials say current river levels have dropped slightly since Tuesday afternoon. Several roads in and around Greeley remain closed, and all remain in effect.
The Greeley Tribune reported as the Poudre River remained above flood stage throughout the day Monday. With so much water needing to flow back into the Poudre River, it could take several days – or even a week – for the flood waters to recede.
Building inspectors with the City of Greeley have conducted initial damage assessments and reported 11 damaged private residences and 12 damaged businesses. Of those, five homes and five businesses were found to have major damage.
