Recent rainfall along the Front Range and central mountains has reduced the fire danger enough that U.S. Forest Service officials are lifting Stage 1 fire restrictions in the and for the Pawnee National Grassland. That includes some of the forests burned by the High Park fire.
Forest Service spokesperson Tammy Williams says , given the recent moisture.
鈥淗owever, conditions can change quickly in Colorado or in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests,鈥� she adds. 鈥淪o we want to make sure that people still take every precaution with any fire that they have, and really make sure their campfires are completely out before they leave them.鈥�
Related are also being eased. But Williams says recreational shooters need to check for local closures and target restrictions that may still be in place.
