Colorado Associated Press Recognizes KUNC °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ Staff

The Colorado Associated Press Broadcasters Association recognized the KUNC °µºÚ±¬ÁÏroom with six awards at their 2011 Awards Luncheon in Denver over the weekend.

°µºÚ±¬ÁÏ Staffers Brian Larson, Deanna Garcia, Kirk Siegler, Grace Hood and Erin O’Toole received a first place award for Best °µºÚ±¬ÁÏcast. Reporter Grace Hood received top honors in the Investigative Reporting category with a story she co-reported with military investigative reporter Michael de Yoanna about how Fort Carson diagnoses traumatic brain injuries. Hood also took a second place in the General Reporting category.

Hood and reporter Kirk Siegler took both first and second place honors in the Use of Sound category and Siegler won a first place in the Best Feature category for a story about the increased use of wifi in camping. KUNC received awards in the Large/Medium Market category.

KUNC has also been recognized for broadcast excellence this year by the Radio Television Digital °µºÚ±¬ÁÏ Association with four regional Edward R. Murrow awards and four awards from the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
